Getting to the Lake Cunningham Native Garden
The following map shows the precise location of the Native Garden within the park. The orange pin marks the Native Garden parking lot.
In google maps, search for “Lake Cunningham Native Garden” exactly as shown, and it will direct you to the Native Garden parking lot. Else follow the detailed directions below. Failure to follow these directions will get you lost in this 200-acre park.
FROM THE TULLY ROAD ENTRANCE, turn right at the kiosk, go ¼ mile, and park in the dirt parking lot on the left (has a “Native Garden” sign and a portable toilet).
FROM THE WHITE ROAD ENTRANCE, turn left after the kiosk, go ¾ mile, past the skate park, then park in the dirt parking lot on the right (has a “Native Garden” sign and a portable toilet).
If you get lost, ask entrance kiosk personnel or a park ranger for directions to the Native Garden.
Getting to the Lake Cunningham Regional Park
Lake Cunningham Regional Park’s official address is 2305 S. White Road, San Jose, California. It has two entrances: the main entrance on White Road, and another one on Tully Road.
From points north:
- Take 101 S to San Jose.
- Take Tully Road exit, turn left at the light (go east).
- In about 2 miles, after Capitol Expressway, turn left into the Tully entrance to Lake Cunningham Park.
From points south:
- Take 101 N to San Jose.
- Take Tully Road exit, turn right at the light (go east).
- In about 2 miles, after Capitol Expressway, turn left into the Tully entrance to Lake Cunningham Park.
AT THE ENTRANCE KIOSK (staffed in summer): The day parking fee is $6 per automobile. Pedestrians and bicyclists get in for free. Native garden volunteers: your parking fee is waived; at the entrance kiosk, identify yourself as a native garden volunteer; once in the native garden, request a day parking pass from the volunteer coordinator. Any vehicle not displaying a parking pass will receive a citation.
